Two ways robots can help with the labor shortage

The labor shortage is a hot topic in manufacturing - for good reason!

Axios reported,"In the next 10 years, they expect 4.6 million new manufacturing jobs to be created, 2.4 million of which will remain unfilled because of a skills shortage."

Here are two ways robots can help mitigate the gaps from the labor shortage.

    1:减少营业额

    机器人如何减少营业额?

By eliminating the jobs nobody wants.

People worry about robots taking jobs from people and are often missing one key piece of information - most workers do not want those repetitive, taxing jobs!

The Robot Report said, "In one study of manufacturing companies, 43% of respondents indicated their operations were sitting at 20% turnover per year or even higher. Industrial automation can help cut down on that churn and save jobs."

    2. Improving safety

    通过改善机器人工作场所的安全性,企业可以节省大量的时间和金钱。另外,类似于我们上面关于重复性工作的话,人们根本不希望那些可能是危险的工作。

The Robot Report also said, "Manufacturing alone contributed 115,500 incidents of days away from work in 2017, or around 93 cases for every 10,000 employees. The perception that working in a factory offers high risks for low rewards is one challenge for staff recruiting and retention."

Using robots for these types of positions can help change the perception of manufacturing jobs. Instead of boring, repetitive, and dangerous, the workforce can learn to see manufacturing positions as innovative and exciting!
